THE REAL WORLD VIEW — PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: 13th June 2026

1. Introduction

1.1 We are committed to protecting the privacy of our website visitors and members.

1.2 This policy applies where PPC Consulting (UK) Limited, trading as The Real World View ("we", "us", "our"), acts as data controller in respect of the personal data of website visitors and members — that is, where we determine the purposes and means of processing.

1.3 We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. How we use your personal data

2.1 We may process usage data — including IP address, approximate location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views, navigation paths, and the timing and frequency of your use. The source is our analytics system. We process it to analyse and improve the website and services. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in monitoring and improving our website and services.

2.2 We may process account data — including your name and email address. We process it to operate the website, provide the services, maintain security and back- ups, and communicate with you. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you and/or our legitimate interests in the proper administration of our website and business.

2.3 We may process transaction data — including details of subscriptions and payments made through the website. (Card details are handled by our payment provider; we do not store full payment card data.) We process it to supply the services purchased and keep proper records. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you and our legitimate interests in proper record-keeping.

2.4 We may process notification data — information you provide to subscribe to our briefings, emails, or newsletters. We process it to send you those communications. Legal basis: performance of a contract and/or your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

2.5 We may process correspondence data — the content and metadata of communications you send us, including via contact forms. We process it to communicate with you and keep records. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in administering our business and communicating with users.

2.6 We may process customer relationship data to manage and communicate with members and to keep records of those communications. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in the proper management of customer relationships.

2.7 We may process any personal data identified in this policy where necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims, and where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to protect vital interests.

3. Providing your personal data to others

3.1 We may share your personal data with service providers who process it on our behalf — including our payment provider, hosting provider, email/communications platform, and analytics provider — under appropriate data-processing terms.

3.2 We may disclose personal data where necessary for obtaining professional advice, managing risk, or establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims, and where required to comply with a legal obligation.

4. International transfers

4.1 Our hosting and service providers may process data in the UK, the EEA, or other countries. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum).

5. Retaining and deleting personal data

5.1 We will not keep your personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is processed.

5.2 We retain account and transaction data for the duration of your subscription and for a period afterwards as required to meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations (retention period to be confirmed — e.g. six years for financial/tax records under UK law).

5.3 We may retain personal data longer where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

6. Security

6.1 We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, or alteration.

6.2 You acknowledge that transmission of data over the internet is not completely secure; while we take reasonable measures, we cannot guarantee the security of data sent to us online.

6.3 You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential. We will never ask you for your password except when you log in.

7. Your rights

7.1 Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your personal data; have it rectified; have it erased in certain circumstances; restrict its processing; object to its processing; data portability; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

7.2 To exercise any of these rights, contact us at aaron@therealworldview.com. You may also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies

8.1 We use cookies to operate the website, analyse usage, and improve the service. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and through any cookie controls provided on the website. (A separate cookie notice may be required depending on the cookies used.)

9. Amendments

9.1 We may update this policy by publishing a new version on the website with a revised "Last Updated" date. We will notify you of significant changes where appropriate.
